Complex apartment building in the center of Brussels
The Hooikaai & Werfkaai project consisted of the construction of two apartment buildings in the center of Brussels on behalf of Skyline City Center. More specifically, the project included the construction of 65 apartments, two commercial premises and 60 underground parking spaces. These parking spaces were distributed among 4 parking systems.
The complexity of this project was in 2 aspects. The first was the realization of a waterproof wall by means of secant piles around the construction zone, which allowed a lowering of the groundwater level. The second aspect concerned the load-bearing structure of the buildings which is related to the differences at the floor level, the different terraces on the front facade and to the diversity of the built apartments.
