Incubator for green, sustainable or environmental companies
BAM Contractors constructed the multifunctional building with an above-ground area of 8,302 m² to house the entirety of the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) Brussels Greenbizz.
The workshops have a total area of 5,505 m² and meet low energy consumption standards. The size of the workshops ranges from 120 to 550 m². They consist of modules that can be easily connected with each other.
The incubation modules (totaling 2 815 m²), in the form of "all-in" offices meet the energy standards for passive buildings.
The facades were clad with wooden caisson walls filled with cellulose flakes, the finish of the facades are in wood for the production studios and in aluminum sheet for the incubators (offices), part of the ground floor and mezzanine the facade was carried out with a curtain wall (glued glazing). The floor of the workshops was finished with asphalt pavement and separated by masonry walls and concrete blocks.
