Thorough renovation of existing office building in the heart of Brussels

The Brederode project consists of the thorough renovation of two existing office buildings located in the heart of Brussels behind the Royal Palace. Both buildings were renovated inside and outside on behalf of client Befimmo. They are connected underground by the parking basement, which is also to be renovated.

The building on rue de Namur is a listed building and was restored to its original state by applying guillotine windows and reinstalling obelisks on the roof. The building on Brederodestraat was structurally altered inside with partially new concrete floors and a new stairwell.

Both buildings are fully equipped with the latest technical systems, washrooms, elevators and interior finishes.

BREEAM "Very Good" and the ISO14001 standard are applicable for the project.

The central location in the city of Brussels, as well as the commercial spaces (which remained in use during the works) on top of which both buildings are located, posed a particularly great challenge for the logistical organization of this project.
