At our Pleinlaan project, we are creating a leading educational campus on behalf of the Flemish Community Commission. This ambitious project is transforming the former Beobank headquarters into a contemporary, multifunctional learning environment in a strategic location between the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Etterbeek Station.
As a contractor, we take on the entire execution of the works and help shape a sustainable redevelopment with strong social added value. In collaboration with developer Befimmo and architect B2Ai , we are converting an existing office structure into a future-oriented campus where education, sports, and culture come together.
The site accommodates two secondary schools with a total of 1,150 students. GO! Atheneum Etterbeek is developing an ASO program for 700 students. The Imelda Institute of vzw KATOBA will develop a TSO and BSO program for 450 students. The opening of the new school infrastructure is planned for September 2026.
The educational infrastructure covers 13,400 m², of which more than 2,000 m² is designated for sports and exercise. These sports facilities will also be open to local sports clubs outside school hours. In addition, the community center De Maalbeek will also be given a home here, including a 375 m² theater and various multipurpose rooms. In this way, we are creating a shared and dynamic use of the site, in line with the ambition to make optimal use of urban space.
In the redevelopment, we are strongly committed to circular renovation. The existing structure of the building will be preserved as much as possible and repurposed into an energy-efficient and flexible campus. With more than 7,000 m² of outdoor space and excellent accessibility, Pleinlaan is growing into an open and accessible place in the heart of the city.
