New construction residential complex with green zone

Commissioned by Immpact, we were responsible for the new construction of a residential complex in the heart of Antwerp, consisting of 94 apartments and 8 houses with a spacious underground parking spread over 3 floors.

A fully landscaped green area is provided in the inner courtyard. The buildings also feature green roofs.

The facades will have a natural stone plinth at the bottom with a crepe facade above. On the street side, precast concrete panels were also provided in a white color that should lean as closely as possible to the white crepe. There are numerous terraces, both precast and interior.

The parking on floor -1 is reserved for the residents of the apartments, while the parking on floors -2 and -3 are exploited. All underground floors are equipped with a sprinkler system and RWA system.

The project's biggest challenge is logistics due to the lack of space. The entire area of the site is still initially built up. These buildings have to be demolished and over the entire area a construction pit will be made to level -9m50.

The supply and removal of materials had to be done via a 5.5m wide street. During the demolition and creation of the foundation walls, neighboring buildings were also propped up and/or underpinned so that everything remained in place. One of the buildings to be propped up included the Arenberg Theatre.
