New courthouse as result of international architectural competition

The new courthouse at Bolivarplaats in Antwerp is the result of an international architectural competition. This public building is subtle, environmentally friendly, sustainable and transparent. Through the central light spacious public reception hall, called the "salle des pas perdus", which is reached via a monumental wooden staircase from Bolivarplaats, one gains access to the six office wings that are interconnected by galleries on the first and second floors. The courtrooms are located above the offices and under the distinctive scaled roofs. In total there are 26 small and 6 large courtrooms, recognizable by the 26 low and the 6 high scale roofs. This promotional assignment was realized by Justinvest Antwerpen NV, with Interbuild taking on the complete "construction management".
