5-story, luxury assisted living complex with sleek architecture by the sea

The Beukenhof project involves the demolition and new construction of 99 assisted living units with communal areas. Underground parking and exterior landscaping were also part of the assignment Interbuild carried out for Skyline Europe nv.

The building consists of 5 layers, namely underground parking, ground floor with private restaurant and a wellness with indoor pool. The ground and upper floors consist of state-of-the-art assisted living apartments, each of which has a spacious terrace overlooking the greenery.

The facade is composed of gray architectural concrete, galvanized steel railings and stairs, facade stone (like the church of Oostduinkerke) and wooden exterior joinery and cladding. The large windows provide plenty of light and visibility, and the large roof areas perform the function of green roofs.

The attractive plan structure, interior layout and thoughtful choice of materials guarantee optimal comfort and living enjoyment. This beautiful, clean architecture does not suggest the complexity of the details to be realized, connection details and junctions (both structural and different materials together).

For the Beukenhof project, sustainable construction was carried out by making well-considered choices of materials (materials with a long lifespan, which are produced nationally, which can be recycled at the end of their life cycle, etc.) and by dealing consciously with waste streams.
Sustainable construction here was also a search for optimal integration of a building into the existing environment.
Beukenhof is in fact located on a beautiful site, surrounded by greenery in a private park in Oostduinkerke village, close to the local stores and the golf course of Oostduinkerke.
