Scholen van Morgen is a public-private partnership between the Flemish government on the one hand and AG Real Estate and BNP Paribas Fortis on the other, jointly structured through DBFM Scholen van Morgen nv. The program includes the design, construction, financing and 30-year maintenance of 182 school building projects. Each School of Tomorrow is a unique project, based on local needs and vision, and meets all modern requirements in terms of sustainability, comfort and flexibility.
This brand new site in Heule (Kortrijk) consists of the Athena campus Heule (Technical Atheneum) and Kransvijver elementary school. Both schools are housed on one campus to promote cooperation and flow of students. In the secondary, modern workshops are provided for the departments of construction, automotive, painting and decorating techniques, metal, electrical and printing, each with associated warehouses, classrooms and locker rooms. These rooms are used for adult education after school hours.
The elementary school houses 4 kindergarten classes and 6 elementary school classes, as well as a multipurpose room, refectory, administrative rooms, sanitary facilities and three classes for philosophical subjects. Together these buildings have a total area of 3668 m², there is room for 400 pupils. The bicycle shed and parking lot are used by both schools and by adult education. Joint use of the same infrastructure is a plus for both schools.
BAM fm is responsible for owner maintenance for 30 years.
